The SOGESE S.r.l. was established in 1980 on the intuition of the founder, Ercole Monti, who noted that the increase and the intensification of maritime and international trade, could bring good market opportunities for containers depots performing maintenance and repair activities for the major shipping companies operating in the port of Livorno. Thanks to the consolidation of relations with shipping and leasing companies, great owners of containers fleets, SOGESE was able to have an easy access to the supply of second hand containers which started to sell on the retail market soon later. During the early nineties, the intensification of competition and the consequent reduction of profit margins lead to a business renovation and SOGESE reinvented itself by trying to exploit the huge amount of container availability. So it begins the activity of containers rental (dry and reefer) for static use as an alternative to the need of creation of new spaces for the storage and preservation of goods and materials, even at a controlled temperature. The originality of the service is mainly due to the immediate technical assistance given by COREMAS, a company also controlled by the Monti family. In 2000, SOGESE also started to rent multipurpose prefabs, using a technology developed by a new controlled company, POLARIS ITALIA. These modular units therefore allow the creation of spaces equipped and fully functional for the specific use required by the customer (sanitary facilities, dormitories, schools, warehouses, locker rooms, stores, fair exhibitions, offices and gyms).
